The Journal of Visualized Experiments

This website was just brought to my attention. It is the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE), an “online research journal employing visualization to increase reproducibility and transparency in biological sciences”. It’s interesting and potentially quite useful. Does anyone have any thoughts on it?

I’m curious why you would ask.

I suppose the site should realize its aim of increasing transparency and reproducibility of experiments by showing video, but I also suppose you ask along the lines of whether there is some further value, or truth, or immediacy, or surveyability, in presenting science visually instead of by written word (plus or minus charts and graphs), which might explain *why* such a visual approach might help to realize the site goals.

    As to that, I … don’t know.

Perhaps you wonder if it presents new opportunities to present fraudulent data or methodology? Or maybe that’s just me. 🙂
