Liz Irvine’s book, “Consciousness as a Scientific Concept,” is the first book published in the Springer book series Studies in Brain and Mind under its newish editor-in-chief and editorial board.
While the hardback is fairly expensive at $99, a little known feature of Springer is that paperback copies of their books may be ordered online through participating libraries for only $25. The program is called MyCopy (Your library must subscribe to the e-book package for you to do this.)
The next book in the series is scheduled to come out soon. It is edited by Richard Brown and entitled “Consciousness Inside and Out: Phenomenology, Neuroscience, and the Nature of Experience.”
Both of these are excellent contributions. More books are in the pipeline.
Of course, new book proposals and manuscripts are welcome in the series as well.
