Anil Seth on AI, Consciousness, and Agency

This is the fourth instalment in our series of short interviews on the topics of artificial intelligence and agency. In the interest of both our guests’ and audience’s time, these interviews will be concise, but each is accompanied by a reading list to facilitate further exploration of the subject matter. Our guest today is Professor Anil Seth. Professor Seth is a British neuroscientist and academic at the University of Sussex. His notable contributions include the acclaimed monograph Being You: A New Science of Consciousness, as well as edited volumes such as Modelling Natural Action Selection. He is also the founding editor of the journal Neuroscience of Consciousness, and has authored numerous scholarly articles. He is interviewed by Majid D. Beni.
