We are thrilled to announce that Jorge Ignacio Fuentes Muñoz will be joining us at Brains as an Associate Editor. Jorge is an assistant professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and will be overseeing content in philosophy of mind and neuroscience, as well as keeping us updated on philosophical happenings in South America. Please see below for a brief introduction from Jorge!
“Hello! I am Jorge Ignacio Fuentes from Chile. I am currently a Professor at the Centro de Bioética of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. My research interests revolve around neuroethics, the philosophy of cognitive neuroscience, and the philosophy of science. Within those areas, my research to date has focused on personal identity, computational mechanisms, levels of organization, and neurorights. I decided to join the Brains Blog because I find it a great platform for discussion in the philosophy of mind sciences. Also, I think it’s a great place to start looking at summarized information to introduce you to topics in your nearby fields and to stay up to date on debates. I hope that by participating in the blog, I can highlight some relevant local work. My feeling is that there is an interestingly growing community in the philosophy of the mind sciences across my country and neighbouring countries that deserves greater visibility, and hopefully, this blog can contribute to that aim.”
